In
addition to the videos accompanying the figures in the online version
of the article (see above) the following are a selection of additional
video extracts which may be of interest. The codes used in the names
are the following:
12mo = 12 months old, etc.
C1: Toy attached to tool; C2: toy inside, touching; C3: toy inside
not touching; C4: toy to the side of tool; C5: tool given to child in hand
TslashT: Child was interested in either the toy only, or the tool only, or alternated between them
TplusT: Child was interested in the acting on the toy with the tool
ME: Means-End behaviour: the child showed he was beginning to be able to plan a sequence of actions in order to attain his end.
R1: Child understood the tool could be used to obtain the toy, but did not know the exact movement requirement
R2: Child knew how to use the tool properly
